Local Show Observations/Update

I did the local monthly show this weekend and have some observations:

-The same dealers last month with platinum or silver that bought high still had the exact same items priced high with the justification they bought high. I'm not sure how that works when I guy across the room is pricing to sell. Ex: 1 oz brand or generic silver bars at $129-$149. Other dealers around $90 or less.

-The spreads on gold are pretty tight. Likely attributed to its stability lately. Silver spreads still pretty wide.

-I was able to get several 1987 proof silver eagles for $85 each, which I easily sell for $120 on ebay.

-I was able to buy a 1993 Philly Gold Proof set in OGP for spot. He actually had it priced under spot by $250 and when I asked about his best price....he re-priced it. Lesson learned, but I hadn't done the math before inquiring on the price.

I'm seeing some bullion selling, but things have definitely quieted down a lot. Bullion dealers are typically willing to be flexible to move inventory right now.
