R.I.P. Samuel Kaeppel
I learned today that coin dealer Samuel Kaeppel of Greenfield, MA passed away last Saturday. He was a great friend of mine. He attended all of the local shows in MA, NH, ME, and NY and many of the national shows.
I met Sam early on when I started going to my local shows in 2015. I had even enjoyed sharing a table with him at the Bay State coin show the past few years. He was a character to say the least, had a laugh that could be heard from anywhere in the room, and always had great stories. Especially, about the 1955 double die cents and how many he had bought and sold over the years.
He will be missed. R.I.P. Sammy!

sad news
Sorry to hear of your loss.
Always sad to hear "one of us" passed away! :'(
Very sad to hear this news. What a special person. I met Sam probably 7-8 years ago at the Denver show. A few years back at FUN we went out to dinner and a few too many beers but I will never forget the great time we had. He was easy to talk to and always positive. A great loss for our numismatic community. Condolences to his family.
Honestly, sounds like a great guy and one I'd love to have heard his stories regarding the 1955/55 cents.
Bummer, condolences to all
Oh no. I'm very sorry to hear it.
