Best place to auction graded World coins?
Where is the go to place for auctioning modestly priced World coins? I am talking about PCGS/NGC coins in the $500 average value range. Mostly European collection from the 1700-1800's era. Thanks in advance for any tips and insights!

I consigned about 100 coins with Heritage last November -- all Spanish Colonial 8 reales in various conditions, from VF details to MS 62. The process was easy as I took them to the Whitman Baltimore Coin Show and handed them over in person. They have a scanner that will read the bar code off the PCgS/NGC slabs to make the data entry process quick. The auctions seem to work flawlessly.
But, there were some odd issues with a few of my coins in that I was invoiced for several of them that had been sent to PCGS and NGC for reslabbing and I'm not quite sure why. I was told there were damaged slabs and mechanical errors (wrong labels). None of which I believe were present when I submitted the coins. I complained and the charges were waived.
Receiving timely payment is another problem. My first checks should have arrived in late February but they have not shown up yet.
I'm uncertain if this is a typical experience now or just an anomaly. My last consignment was in 2019 and had none of these issues.

Kyle at Heritage is great. He auctioned my Italian Prova collection in 2023 and was super. I currently have some English down there now. Stacks and Bowers are ok I have had some issues with them in the past but the items you described are better off with Kyle. You could talk to MDC or Noisma or Gadory in Italy and Monaco if you want them sent overseas.
@jgenn I looked into this for you and left you a voicemail. Happy to help.
@Manorcourtman if you have any questions about Heritage as you consider what to do, feel free to PM me. Good luck deciding!
Ok it turns out my address (which has remained the same all these years) was flagged a bad for some reason. Customer service was able to clear that up for me. Thanks for offering to get involved @Stella.
I’ve been wondering about Great Collections - they seem a good consignor-friendly venue for US coins, but I’d be concerned that World & Ancient coins might not get as many eyeballs there?
Would Heritage be the better bet for one’s non-US material? (Or CNG, for Ancients?)
I so far have zero experience in consigning anywhere. All of the times I have sold coins at auction, I’ve done it myself, through eBay.
The majority of my inventory is in the low- to mid-three-figure range, with a few in the high three-figure range and a little bit of gold in the low-four-figure range. Everything noteworthy that I have is in PCGS or NGC holders.

Re: Great Collections
I just consigned a few low/mid tier world coins there (a few were as widgety as it gets).
I was very pleased overall. I have nothing bad to say about any other auction house as I buy from all of them…..I think for the material I consigned GC was by far the best option considering they only take 5% off the hammer.
Not sure if a HA weekly auction (where I’m certain my material would have belonged) would have received more eyeballs, but the actual payouts at GC are extremely fair imho and processed exceedingly quickly.
They’ll most likely have my business for my nicer stuff whenever that day comes.
Thanks.

I prefer to work with Heritage. When I upgrade or replace one of my ancient or medieval coins originally purchased from Heritage they gladly accept my extras. Most reach the value threshold for no seller fees. Its best to wait to have a few coins to consign as the minimum consignment value is $5,000.
Granted it does take a while to receive payment but I am satisfied that my coins get great exposure in the coin collecting community.
