Got a silver quarter in change

JeffnluJeffnlu Posts: 297 ✭✭✭✭

Sometime in the last month. We were in Florida for the month of February. We just throw our change in a mug and bring it home at the end of the month. I was sorting it out today, see a quarter that looks a little off and lo and behold a 1964-D in very good condition. Been many a year since the last one.

Nice find! I can't remember the last one I've gotten in change. Last couple I got (some years ago now) were dimes.

That's fantastic. I can't recall the last silver quarter I received in change. It was likely decades ago.

Sweet! I've found a few Roosy dimes the last year or so, both dated in the late 1950s. Hard to fathom that 90% silver is still out in the wild, but apparently they are.

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.

To think in terms of economics vs. numismatics ; you can get about five gallons of gas with a silver quarter (current value)

I've found silver dimes in the reject bin on the Coinstar at the Walmart. Never a silver quarter. A few years ago, a search of two bank rolled boxes of $250 in quarters yielded only 1 silver quarter. It was dated nineteen fifty something.

Einstein’s view of God was non-traditional and pantheistic, focusing on the harmony, order, and intelligibility of the cosmos rather than a personal deity. His quotes reveal a profound respect for the universe’s mysteries, a belief in rational laws, and a moral philosophy grounded in compassion and understanding, bridging science and spirituality.

“My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind.”

COINgratulations! With the price of silver nowadays, that was a nice score for only 25 cents!

It's been a long, long time since I got one. Of course it has been a pretty good while since I used coins at all.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

Not on the left coast you can't [and the miles per $.01 may be comparable].

Congrats! Wow... the last silver I got anywhere was a 1963 Roosevelt Dime I found in a Coinstar bin, and that was probably 4 to 5 years ago...

The trick is to find a 1964,D Quarter that will actually grade VG.
