Lost Coin Found…FINALLY!

I have a 1951 Voyageur Dollar I bought back in October at a coin show down in Indiana and I lost it soon after. Thankfully, earlier this week, it FINALLY decided to show up…in the weirdest place! I currently take JROTC in school, for context, and as I was taking my uniform off the hangar, (as we’re required to wear it once per week), it fell out of some pocket I’d likely forgotten about! Weirdest part being is that I wore the uniform most likely several times after losing the coin and I’d NEVER found it until now!

    Here is another, to add to your story a bit: in the 90s up even until just a couple of years ago when silver starting getting crazy price wise I would go to the Baltimore show and pick up one or two of the bullion eagles and usually one but occasionally two Libertads. This included the much scarcer 1997, 1998 and 1999. Well I found the first and last but then not the very best 1998 (at 1500 USD and above) which finally showed up in a miscellaneous box just one week ago.:


    Anyway, good show on finding yours.

    I once found a VG 1875-S USA 20-cent piece in a box full of books and other junk that had been sitting in the backseat of my car for a while. I had no recollection of ever owning the the thing. That was a fun find.


    On the other hand, I once lost a nice 1797 British "Cartwheel" twopence in our old house in North Carolina (and moved out not long afterwards). That one never turned back up.

    Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
