I don’t expect to see one in my area for at least a year after they’re widely circulating. I don’t use a ton of cash, but we don’t get new new coins very often. That’s a combo for me not seeing them.
That's a generic issue, depending on where you live. The Treasury also doesn't preferentially ship new coins, they ship whatever is on hand. And banks also get a lot of recirculated coinage from Loomis etc. So, even after they are minted, they aren't immediately shipped. Even after they start shipping, they don't automatically appear everywhere immediately.
It's not unusual to not see new coins in any year until late into the year. Which is why, 5-star, not seeing the coins now is not an indication that they will be hard to find. It is a kinetic issue.
