Mint Error Verification
in Q & A Forum
I have been collecting coins for over 50 years but I am still a novice. I had been collecting older U.S. coins but recently started looking at newer coins. Up until recently, I did not consider coins with mint errors although I do have a few. I recently came across a 1995 Kennedy half dollar that has circles on the front of the coin a little smaller that the diameter of the coin. They are perfectly round and exactly centered on it. I am looking for verification as to if they are a mint error or something else. I have attached a photo of it.

Not an error, those marks are caused by a coin wrapping machine and appear on the ends
of a roll. It is considered damage. There is no way for that to happen when the coin was struck.
Thanks for the information. I didn't think it was an error at first, but I am glad you cleared it up for me. Makes sense.
