My New Venture

So I’ve dipped my toes into the shallow end of the pool again, this time starting a new collection of Proof Lincoln cents from 1936-1942. My intentions are to assemble an all matching set of PCGS and CAC’d Proof 66 Red cents.
Here are the first 2 that will start my new venture. I really like the look of these in full red.

Good luck, but I would add that getting gem red CAC proof Lincoln cents from that era is not necessarily the "shallow end of the pool".

Fun set, enjoy the chase!

Terrific idea! I'd love to see the complete set when completed. Good luck.

I absolutely love this era of proofs. The '36 in 66RD CAC will set you back a few bucks, and if you go for the satin, they are almost unobtanium.

Thanks everyone for your positive comments. I know it will be a battle and I’m looking forward to the challenge!

Sounds like a fun endeavor Zack! You’ve got off to a good start too - best of luck & happy hunting!

So many directions. Such beautiful specimens. No shallow end there.

If I can find them, I'll go for both.
Thanks Ken. It certainly will be a challenge! Zack
Absolutely blazing RED!, especially the '37.
You can think about extending the set to 1958 if you choose to expand... good luck with your collection

Well since I’m also collecting the other 4 denominations from the 1936-1942 years, doesn’t really fit into my plans. Besides, I do have the ones you mentioned in my collection of original Mint boxed proof sets. Just not certified and CAC’d. Thanks, Zack.
If you do varieties, there is a class 2 DDO for '39 and a class 2 DDR for '38. Just sayin'.
What is that below the 8?
I've always liked proofs from that era, nice ones can have such great eye appeal. Yor first two look really nice. Good luck and have fun completing the set.
