Bust Half Disme

I used to have a very decent half disme collection, which was stolen, 20 of so of them. Most of them were slabbed. The nice thing about them is that they are historical circulating currency and affordable. And there is a reasonable oppurtunity to fill in the entire collection.

They were very small silver coins...image a nickels worth of silver

Looks like a nice XF-AU example of the 1835. There isn't a lot of collecting pressure on this series, meaning one can still find nice coins for a fair price. Do you still have it, or was it one of the stolen coins?

The whole group of about 20 half disme were taken along with 20 Bust Halfs, 20 or so high grade Morgans, plus a lot more. Some of them showed up later on auction sites. The NYPD refused to make a coin by coin detailed report of the theft despite my spread sheets, images, receipts, and documents. No cooperation from auction house. It was very discouraging and a life altering event. Now everything that I have gotten, is stored off site in a safe used for Narcotics and that is alarmed and insured. I got coins from my kids, friends et al. About 40K of coins was stolen in total? I can never replace that much. But what we now have is in the safe.

It was described as a cross between Martha Washington and the French Girls with nitted hair who went to the Guillioteen. The Bird was described as a common barnyard water fowl playing the role of an Eagle
