    Sonny Jurgenson was a fabulous QB in his day and is much overlooked in the present day. When he was with The Redskins and calling his plays they ran a predecessor to the West Coast Offense some 20 years before Bill Walsh “invented” it.

    To me he epitomizes the over emphasis on winning Championships when judging a player’s GOAT-ness.

    They say they go in 3's. Just two weeks ago, one of Jurgensen's rival's, quarterback John Brodie passed away at the age of 90'. Brodie was the first QB to utilize the shotgun. After he retired he worked as a football and golf analyst for NBC. Brodie's #12 is retired by the 49ers. He also played pro golf on the senior tour.
