I was watching JM prices as silver was dropping today.

In real time they were increasing their premiums as silver dropped. In other words, they are trying to recoup losses using premium fees. Kind of shady if you ask me.

Need a Barber Half with ANACS photo certificate. If you have one for sale please PM me. Current Ebay auctions

Why is it "shady" to try and recoup the money you spent for a commodity? There's no law or even JM promise to sell at a certain premium.

True story. Buddy with a shop bought around 100 ounces on Wednesday afternoon at $75. Yesterday, he was selling at $80. The "premium" increased all day as silver dropped, but his profit wasn't. Woman came in yesterday afternoon and wanted to buy at spot ($70ish). My friend said he was at $80. She told him he HAD to sell at spot and started yelling at him. Lol.

They may. But hedging isn't a perfect vehicle when the price is moving rapidly.

That’d be like watching paint dry as it runs down the wall.

What were all the other big online dealers doing at that time? I know they change premiums as well. Maybe not as quickly but they do. One moment 2 over spot. Refresh and it is 3. Who knows what algorithms come into play for their website and inventory.

I have bought from several major online dealers and every once in a while I found JM to be the cheapest for what I was looking for. So I ordered.
