Gold coins are not available from the Mint at this point

Older stuff is not available, and new stuff is TBD.

Should be an interesting play this Wednesday afternoon when gold inventory is re-priced.

Yup. As I said before, the weekly repricing scheme was not designed to deal with violent price moves like this.

I don't have the formula in front of me, but it's not simply the price at a point in time on Tuesday or Wednesday. The crazy wide swings might make them reluctant to use it at all, because they could get caught with their pants down.

Not because they will be selling below spot, given how huge the premiums are, but because they might be selling for hundreds less than they want to. Or they just don't want to deal with the inevitable returns when the spot price drops significantly during the return period.

It's the only explanation. It's not as though they have run out of inventory or anything like that.

maybe they threw everything into the melter and sold when spot was 5000+ and have nothing left.... it wouldn't be the stupidest thing they did in the last 30+ years.... :D

I wonder why the mint doesn't use a dynamic pricing system like almost all eBay sellers have for their precious metal coins. Maybe they are developing one now or just waiting for the gold price to stabilize.

Because it's just not necessary when the premiums are as high as what they typically charge. We are just in unprecedented waters right now. Things will stabilize, and the missing items will be returned to the website.

And, it's not a huge deal. The things they pulled are things that barely sell on a weekly basis. Get excited if something new is not available for sale.

Gold coins are now back, at around ~$1,000 an ounce above spot. Go get 'em. 🤣🤣🤣

Gold Proof AGE only $5,900. 'Limited' means, limited to those of our Mint customers with crazy deep pockets, and you love our coins a whole lot. 😅
