Guess the grade…..

New old member here, had a account from 2002-2008 or so. My username was Miles72 (I think) and met some awesome people on here. One member sent me a baseball glove for my son which was really cool and I bought some really sharp raw cards from some guys too. Awesome community here. I’m starting to collect some again, but no high end vintage (which I love btw). Mainly focusing on Ohtani, Judge, Skenes, Witt Jr and other stars in Heritage only. Love the ‘24 Heritage and eventually would love to put a true complete set together (no chrome lol) So, I’m really glad to be back, just wish I could have kept my old account but it was tied to a long gone email. Btw my username and avatar is because when I was 8 years old, I opened many, many packs of 1980 Topps and even got my Dad to order a vending box from Renata Galasso and had doubles and multiples of many cards and had a complete set except for one card…..1980 Enrique Romo, that thing was a ghost and have never seen one in person lol.
Anyways here is my post, what do you think PSA graded this ‘24 Heritage Ohtani Mini image variation?

Is that a folded back corner and an off center front ?

Had my 1980 Enrique Romo graded late last year.

I can't believe they gave it a 9 cuz of the print area under the bottom P in pirates. Looks perfect to me

  • That Romo card is sweet and was my nemesis as a 8 year old. Lol
Here is the Ohtani grade, I just don’t understand. The front left to right centering is about the same on every copy I’ve seen, mini or standard, but the folded back corner is glaring. Who do they have grading over there?

That probably means they graded it a 9 before the damage occured. ?

  • Had not thought of that. It is a possibility. I would be pissed if that was my submission.

I had that happen with a razor sharp 1962 Roy Face card. The card had strong 9 potential but came back a 7 with the top paper folded up on one corner. I was ticked off at it. Fortunately it happens very rarely.

    I was thinking PSA7

I looked at the PSA scans and I can’t really be sure what is up with that corner because of the trash-pack with the Mylar. I would consider this one a miss.

  • Well, I’m just glad it’s not my card lol. However, my daughter bought this one for me last Christmas. She did not really check the photos close enough. It’s just a base in SGC. What do you guess on this one? 🧐

  • On a different subject, any ideas on why Ohtani’s ‘24 Heritage card was not an all star card? I’m pretty sure he was a all star in ‘23 along with others who did not get the all star “star” on their ‘24 Heritage card. Really hoping his ‘26 Heritage has the all star banner across the bottom, always loved the color scheme on the ‘77 Garvey/Dodgers card.
