Dabbling in some slightly better coins as Ieverage from silver 'bonus'.

Appreciate any thoughts on this one. Cheek definitely took some impacts. Reverse is pristine.

Cool! There are not a lot of Vam options for this date. Here is a link. Try to determine which one it is if you want! ;)

The hits are severe enough that I’d call it 60 even though some grading services might call it 61.

Obverse is a bit rough looking with the chin hits. Don’t know how much you paid but unless you got a discount (unlikely) for a comparable price you could have bought a GSA one.

Congratulations on your purchase. The obverse took some hits. It looks like it has terrific luster so you must get a nice cartwheel. If you like it thats what really matters.

I got it for $275 which seemed like a discount to me.

Nice value for what you paid. Who doesn’t like Carson City Morgans?

Nice caboose on this coin. My swag is 5b. But clearer pics would help. VAMing is always fun! Peace Roy

That sounds like a fair price but it doesn’t seem like a “discount”.
Here’s an NGC MS62, (in the GSA holder) which brought $288 last month:

$288 including the BP seems really cheap. Sadly, the coins I bid on went for well above my bids, which I thought were already high.

A non-GSA PCGS 62 brought the same price last month, though a number of non-GSA's have brought $300+.
Still, an ungraded example like the one in this thread, that looks MS62, at best, should bring less than graded MS62's.

From the angle of the picture provided 62 looks to be accurate. The lighting in the pic may actually overdramatize the hits. I'd wager that if you took another pic from a different angle, it may not look as bad.
    CC's are always a nice addition B)

    Mark, thanks for the insights!

I love the idea of GSAs but I'm buying for a set, so happy to be able to add them to the album vs keeping the GSA cases stored away somewhere. I hear what you're saying about the similar pricing though.

I’m glad to hear you’re collecting for a set the way you prefer. And it might even be harder to get a decent ungraded example at a fair price (as you did) than a similar condition GSA piece.

If you were spending silver profit you should have bought a nicer one.
