Another question about selling "JUNK" silver today

I remember sitting in a coin shop 45 years ago, with lines of people coming in to sell silver. The proprietors were weighing the coins on a scale [the scale was hanging from the ceiling] [no real digital scales then].
Today at these prices and premiums, do they just calculate the 'face' value?

Yeah, the last 2 batches I sold, they just dumped them in a coin counter/sorter and paid out by face value. They barely even looked to confirm I was actually giving them 90%. Pretty crazy. RGDS!
