80/50 Gold Silver Ratio

Mike59Mike59 Posts: 424 ✭✭✭✭

Based on today’s gold and silver closing prices the G/S ratio was 49.61. Are any of you going to start buying gold again (OR) is this time different??
I’m personally thinking of it but I think this time is different. Thoughts?

Not until gold gets the same percentage gains at silver. Silver is wupping a$$.

When gold and silver move together, it signals the coming end of fiat money.

I'd be more interested in platinum and possibly palladium at half of the cost of gold.

Unfortunately they are not yellow and are not recognized by the international banking system and central banking community as monetary reserve assets.

I had a dealer recently tell me he doesn't deal in Pt and Pd because it is too easy to get it mixed up with the gutter. LOL. I suppose he had a point. RGDS!

    .

    What an incompetent dealer.
Do they get brass mixed up with gold ?

    .

Didn't think to ask although I would find that highly unlikely. THKS!

PS: I was thinking we could put a symbolic $100FV on those in gutter we trust tokens, similar to what von NotHaus did on the Norfeds. Assuming we can get to $100. I don't know the gutter is starting to look pretty tired to me and may be getting about time for the big reality check. Thoughts? RGDS!

Thought you were familiar with PPLT and PALL ETFs for short term trading.

Yes I am VERY familiar with PPLT (THKS! @Coho aka @RedneckHB) BOOMIN!™. Not sure what that has to do with a semi-local dealer not wanting to deal in physical Pt and Pd? THKS!

I’m thinking about trading silver for gold as it’d make my SDB a LOT lighter but I think there’s more room for silver to grow. If it gets closer to 45, I definitely will. I even asked if I would be penalized with tax( Washington state) but I wouldn’t since it’s not a sale.

Positive dealing with oilstates2003, rkfish, Scrapman1077, Weather11am, Guitarwes, Twosides2acoin, Hendrixkat, Sevensteps, CarlWohlforth, DLBack, zug, wildjag, tetradrachm, tydye, NotSure, AgBlox, Seemyauction, Stopmotion, Zubie, Fivecents, Musky1011, Bstat1020, Gsa1fan several times, and Mkman123 LOTS of times

You have to do it in one transaction, like a car trade in, if you wish to avoid the sales tax. Sadly your dealer will have to pay B&O on the full amount of the transaction (no deduction for trade-ins)

    That’s annoying but doable.

Do ratios mean anything anymore? The world is a different place these days.

We can look backwards and see opportunities but its a little like Monday morning quarterbacking.

In my case it was actually a coin dealer who specializes in rare coins but also deals gold bullion and gutter metal. He want's absolutely nothing to do with Pt and Pd which is his prerogative. Certainly not the first dealer I have met that has said the same. THKS!
