Memo to Ebay sellers worldwide...
The insane level of difficulty open a package that contains a baseball card is NOT equal to simple secure shipping. Going overboard is unnecessary. It should not take 10 minutes of my time to open and free up a single baseball card in order to deposit it into my collection. I expect this change to be implemented immediately from now on going forward. I hope I have made myself crystal clear.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. That is all!

From the Department Of Clear Tape: We depend on eBay sellers to keep us in business. An entire roll of tape to secure one small item is absolutely necessary. The future of all city dumps is in grave danger without us. We hope our tape is crystal clear. Thank you for sticking with us. That is all!
In response to your above memo..... your department, which falls under the executive branch, is no longer needed!
YOU'RE FIRED!

This is funny to me only because my own early experience with eBay as a seller included a feedback which claimed that I used TOO MUCH TAPE! 😂😉
Single card in slab/hard protector - sandwich it between 2 pieces of cardboard - secure with tape on both sides and padded mailer.
It’s not that damn difficult people.
Don’t need a ball of bubble wrap packed in newspaper and other stupidity.
Just received a cracked slab from one of ebay's bigger sellers. Card was wrapped in one piece of bubble wrap and thrown in a bubble mailer. If it had some cardboard and no bubble wrap it would have survived without any issue. Worst part is that they offered me $15 for reholder fees, as if it were my fault. It's getting returned and refunded in full.
Add one irritable postal worker who prefers to toss stuff around like it's the World Frisbee Championship. Would you still feel satisfied with minimal protection? These days, it comforts me when my purchases arrive in bullet-proof packaging. Of course, most cards are packed as you've described. And they're just fine.
I have gotten my share of cracked slabs from eBay. It was so bad that the card was also damaged in the process. The seller packaged it adequately, it was more how it was mishandled through the mail system. It can be brutal. I am not surprised with the bullet-proof packaging some resort to.

Graded cards does not equal raw cards that have very little value that are needed for my Cardinals collection.
As I said in the memo....packaging that takes 10 minutes to open does not equal secure packaging. I don't need bullet proof packaging for a 2025 Topps Chrome Update Cardinals team set that has 3 cards total worth $0.75 at most.
Sure....if you have an expensive graded card, ship the dang thang in a small Priority Box with a bubble mailer inside. If done properly, that should still only take 1 minutes and 37 seconds to open. That is an approximation, of course, but I guarantee you that I'm close.

I would have enjoyed the pictures. Let me get my grinder!
Opening my Priority box with bubble mailer took 1 minute and 36 seconds...beat you by a second...WOOOHA!
I'll be 51 years old on Wednesday. Age is taking it's toll.

That is absolutely correct!

Boy do I ever hear ya Shane!
Like others, I've had my share. I know some would say better that than the card in a semirigid in a PWE?
Sometimes tape may be strategically placed such that damage isn't averted. I once got a really nice turn of the century board game and a piece of scotch tape got stuck to the box - it's left there since I'd lose cardboard if I try to remove.
I guess it gives me a challenge in my old age? 😎
I have zero problem with cards being shipped in a very "protected" manner. I would much rather take an extra few minutes cutting tape than dealing with a return/refund.

I always ship my cards to PSA in between 2 all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame-seed bun. If they get graded at lunch time there the grades are all minimum 9 with mostly 10s.
Id give u a 10 if is was wrapped in a Popeyes Chicken Sandwich. No more than a 6 for McDonald's. Perhaps thats why so many complain about low grades?
