Well, I sure wasn't expecting that!

Long story short, I bought and cracked out an NGC MS62 1917-P Standing Liberty quarter for my 7070 album a couple of years ago. I had 8 vouchers about to expire so I pulled it out of the 7070 and sent it in with some other stuff out of the 7070. I got it back last week. PCGS graded it MS63FH! Yes. I'm happy!

Not my series, but that is one great looking SLQ.

    Congratulations.

I downloaded the PCGS photo, EFFING AMAZING ORGINAL COIN. Horrendous strike, with a full head and left nipple. Holy Crapola, the only reason I can see that this didn't 3 or 4 is possibly toning-subdued luster. I'd pay 3 or 4+ money for this coin all day long, depending on in-hand-look (if you wanna sell, and I wouldn't). Now this is what I call a COIN.

I know 1917 is usually known for good strikes but that coin must have gone back for seconds. I am trying to remember if I have ever seen ANY Std. Qtr. with that much detail. Grading aside you must be thrilled to own such a piece. james

Looks like she should be designated FN as well 😉

I hereby propose that, going forward, all Type1 SLQs with “FN’s” now be known as “Full Annistons”

Any idea how long ago NGC graded it?

It’s a nice coin and story, but not worthy of the award, IMO.

I usually kept the tpg labels in the back of my 7070. Of course I can’t find that one. If memory serves me correctly, it was new enough to have a photo when I pulled up the cert verification.
