eBay Coin Seller Cautionlist - check it out

I hate eBay counterfeits. Earlier this year I called the Secret Service and spoke to a sympathetic receptionist - but the agent she said would return my call never did. Reporting the seller in eBay often leads to "we looked and found that listing to be OK." At best, if your reports are heeded, it's a game of whack-a-mole.

From this was born the eBay Seller Cautionlist. It's been beta for several weeks now but it's live on GroovyCoins.com.

Two parts make it work:
1. You and I report suspicious listings (with the links and a required image, for when eBay archives the listing).
2. We load the eBay Coin Seller Cautionlist plugin in our Edge, Firefox, or (soon) Chrome browsers.

When browsing to a listing on eBay.com by a seller who'd previously been listed (by our community!) and approved for inclusion (by an empowered admin), then you'd see the word FLAGGED by the seller's name.

(Note, for expired listings you may have to click "see original listing" to get into the page that includes the seller's name).

That might be enough to help you make an informed decision about your next steps. But you can also click on the FLAGGED image or the popup above it, which will direct you to the report on the Cautionlist. Expanding the seller's report(s) by clicking "Show report(s)" will give you the details:

PS. If you have added a listing and it's been approved, and you browse to one of that seller's items in eBay - it may not show FLAGGED until an hour has passed, when it queries the Cautionlist again. You can force the update by clicking on the plugin (which I pinned to my Extensions bar) and hitting Refresh Cautionlist. This is an optional step for impatient folks like me!
