what kind of error is this called
Greetings , Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,, out of 20 rolls of quarters this is the only one like that, i don't know what that kind of error it's called, I am new to coin and only my 3rd week in it ,,I basically no nothing, would this coin be considered a rarity ? have there been others like it in state series, out of the 20 rolls almost every roll, half of every roll was state series, 20 rolls of penny nickels dines and quarters and that's the only one like that, I don't have a clue as to what that error is called, thank you.

Just a beat up, mangled, damaged, circulation coin. Also known as PMD post mint damage. Happy holidays to you as well
The very first thing to do if you want to hunt for error coins is study up on the minting process. A thorough understanding of the minting process will help you understand what is and what is not an error, it will save you tons of time and frustration down the road.
Finding errors is not for you; no need to look any further.
It's called a "got left too long in the Walmart parking lot" error. Happy Holidays!

Post mint damage. Musta got that one on the Friday after Christmas fire 🔥 sale
Welcome to the hobby and Merry Christmas. Some must have gotten coal in their stockings this year and do not remember starting out. Here is one of many available online free book, some old style and some new style, re:U.S. Minting Processes. Read up and then look at 50 or so rolls of coins and you will see the difference in knowing how the coins are made vs just guessing. It truly will help.
Good luck.

@Westgate . I hope you end up enjoying coin collecting. Error coins can be a great deal of work and study in order to get it right. I have been a collector for 57 years and I still don't feel up to the challenge. However, if this is your joy then by all means do so; and see what @jesbbroken posted. James
