What is a "1961 Treasury Collection" Morgan
I picked up a NGC 1886 Morgan in MS63 (undergraded in my opinion and the reason I bought it) that was labeled "1961 Treasury Collection". I asked the auctioneer, but he didn't know and said the coin was from an estate.
Thanks for any help!

Marketing snake oil. In 1961 the Treasury had a large inventory (not collection) of Standard Silver Dollars that any bank could order for their inventory. Most banks kept a bag in the vault for people like my Grandmother who gave each of us grandkids a shiny new silver dollar each Christmas. Naturally I immediately spent mine at the candy store.
