I pledge to continue finding and sharing only the very best of eBay's irrefutable morbidity.
Ouch! But well played, eBay seller. Well played!
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
The ebay listing won't be around forever so here it is:
What's the chances this card was never graded by PSA/SGC and has not been altered? Are 71 Topps football cards as problematic as 71 Topps baseball cards in regards to added color?
Why does it matter? This was posted for our forum to have a few laughs. The card looks original and has the classic Topps rough cut border on the right side, quite common for ‘71 Topps Football. I’d consider buying it raw for my collection at a much lower cost. As for recoloring, that’s an issue for any colored border card and a problem for anyone who gets cheated.
I just won another $25, thank you.
I bet you would win another $25 and won $50 for myself, thank you more!
🤑
The difference is I really did win $25. I gave 3-1 odds to a co-worker that he would respond within 30 minutes to my post which of course he did.
You did not win any money as you don't bet and I would bet my life - yes my life - against $1,000 that you made no bet. Zero chance it happened. Nice try.
Hey gambler. You’re predictably easy. Enjoy your money.
We all need some friends and coworkers like the ones Yankees70 has.
They sound like they're pretty easy to separate from contents of their wallet.
These guys would definitely be at the top of my list of invites to my basement poker games.
Now considering changing my handle to ElMagoBankNotes if you guys wanna play along.
You figured that one out fast.
i felt a gravitational pull to this thread once again because i detected some degenerative activity.........kinda like a moth to a flame........but i'm a little perplexed as to what it is we're actually wagering on
ok i'll drop a benjamin on that
another amazing deal on Ebay, this one is too good to pass up, the seller even dropped the price down 9,000$
I am sure this will be sold sometime next century

Agree and we play poker every other Saturday. Have been playing for over a decade.
The bet is that a certain poster will respond to a comment I make. I give 3-1 , 4-1, 5-1 odds on this happening because he pretty much responds to everything I say. Basically like a parrot.
I have posted in countless message boards in my life and I have never seen anything like it. This is why I have said that he reminds me of a lady I broke up with many years ago. They have the same personality. I will tell him what I told her: Please ignore me and I will do the same.
Yankees 70 just wants peace. Thank you.
Does your coworker drive himself to work?
Of course he does. Not sure what this is supposed to mean?
The guy is a military dude who served time in Afghanistan. I love and respect the dude.
This clown has a lot of trash for sale at very high prices. I emailed him about a month ago asking him about some of his items and his response sounded like he was high on crack.
Go to Greg Morris raw, he just sold a nice 71 OJ for under $100. It was listed as NRMT. It was .
He has one or two a month listed
You dredge up tired, old rhetoric. Yawn.
I follow and buy from Greg like it's my religion. We've been acquainted for a very long time. I was simply poking fun at the OJ auction because of the title, not looking for one specifically. But, I did receive some dynamite 1974 Topps Baseball cards from GMC today. Were those your consignments? These cards are awesome, I want more. Thanks.
You may need at least 3 10 PSA's of Murray to even come close to that. I also saw a 79' wax box fresh BBE certified for $19,000. I'm sure he just bought it for 3500. Who are these guys?
They are the same guys who saw 1983 Topps BBCE wrapped rack boxes go for over $4,000 in recent auctions and have decided that there must be a number of people foolish enough to pay 2-3x what vintage unopened is really going for. And if they can find that one person, bingo.

It's a joke based on a Tom Segura joke from one of his specials. It sounds like you're taking advantage of your coworker and it sounds ludicrous overall and it's a bit weird because who would bet on this stuff. But maybe I'm the weird one and this is normal. I'll ask around.
and a fire-fighting nurse who saves kittens. all good, but besides the point. I'm also assuming you meant 'served in...' vs. 'served time in...' which is also cool. Never been to an Afghan prison... tell me more.
I think, lost in all the strangeness is the amazing listing by a eBay newbie (25 feedback). Sure the price is high, but that's a solid marketing move. The views being driven from this site alone are probably bubbling his listing up to the top search results under promotions.
As an eBay veteran myself I avoid humor in listing as I would expect this card to be refunded 'not as described' with a comment stating it could not cut through skin.
Me and my buddies from work have known each other for many years. We went to each others weddings and are godfathers to each others children. We go to Duck and Angel games many times during the season and we bet with each other on lots of stuff. Not serious money but enough to make it fun.
Example after I won $25 yesterday from my buddy on the bet being discussed in this thread, he bet me double or nothing that the employee who took our lunch order at Inn and Out burger would be a male. It was a female and he paid me $50.
My best buddy is a prison guard at Pelican Bay State Prison and he and most of his co-workers do similiar stuff. It's common in our professions. Its what guys do and it makes work and hanging out with each other fun.
Must be a riot hanging out and listening to you ramble about your favorite topic - you.

That's a play right out of PWCC's playbook. They never go away, do they?
Nor do locusts.
Possibly, we’ve been out of the country touring several Caribbean countries. Most of my November and December consignments are 99% completed.
I shipped a large consignment of 4000 to them today. Early Football, 60s and 70 Baseball . I’ll start another batch next week. Some stunning 57 Baseball and a 66 set.
In my opinion, this thread has gone off the rails and off topic. The discussion has moved beyond the purpose of this forum and into personal exchanges.
The thread is now closed.
