last 30 years QB auto cards and prices

vick, Flacco, Stafford, Rivers, Eli, Rodgers, Cutler, Wilson, Ryan, - auto cards sell for nothing compared to
Burrow, Lamar, allen, Maye, Daniels, HUrts, Herbert, trevor.
WHy such differences?
Any thoughts? You can pick up contenders psa 9's of most of the first set for 25% of Burrow. Makes zero sense to me.

This is true about football and sports cards generally I think. Although it feels most extreme in football. As an example look how many expensive Sam Laporta cards there are compared to all time greats like Gates or Tony Gonzalez
Any one who pays FMV for a hot auto FB card today will be burned on one of the tomorrows. It's a muggs game that smart collectors won't play.

it is because those guys are the latest/greatest. given another 10 years (or much less) you will be able to lump 90% of current QB's into the same group as rivers/eli/rodgers etc. as their promise has waned and the new crop has entered the fray.
same as back in 88 when people were paying more for Gregg Jeffries and Kevin Seitzer than they were for Eddie Murray and Dave Winfield.
