I just saw this ebay auction for a new signature label I’d never seen before and I looked up the pop numbers overall on the coin:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/306645653259
NGC is showing a total pop of 74 coins in ms70, and PCGS is showing a pop of 29!
I think this coin had a pop at NGC earlier this year of ~7, and PCGS at ~5.
This was always one of the hardest $100 plats to make in 70.
Does anyone know who brought the fresh coins to grade? This had to be several fresh monster boxes uncovered all of a sudden.

I sold the pop 1 PCGS coin (a couple times) and it is a true beauty.

Yes the original ones that graded 70 years ago are truly spectacular. I get the feeling that when this tidal wave of new coins hit the market, prices will tumble. Of the 1oz ms coins prior to 2004 in the series, the easiest was the 2003 which has a current pcgs pop of 20, and that is like a $5,000-$6,000 coin.
This 1998 coin with a pcgs pop of 29 is unfortunately going to fall into the $5,000 price range category. Finally making it affordable, but annihilating the prior pricing of $40,000-$60,000.
I have noticed that there have been population "explosions" of these in several dates and fractionals including the "First Strike" labels. The only guess I can make is some monster boxes previously rat holed away are seeing the light of day. One could surmise that the recent rise in platinum prices are shaking them loose, but I have noticed this anamoly for a few years in some dates,
