PSA doubles the fun

https://www.psacard.com/cert/134008908/psa

Check out this blazer!

Here's the original, from before the submitter accepted the offer. After purchasing the card, PSA re-graded the card.

It was a 30 card order. The submitter sold 11 9s from the order to PSA. These cards now show up as PSA 10. This is up on twitter already. PSA is absolute trash!

I just saw the youtube vid about this. I had hoped stuff like this would not happen, but I cannot say I am surprised.

not good. grading companies should not be involved in the selling of cards.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Yeah, I think I may have been concerned about this. Then, I shrugged.

It's so brazen. I respect the move but... https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/

This is what many feared when the whole program began. That said a bit more proof than a blurry scan is required.

It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)
Not even a minute do I buy the whole buh buh buh I'm a man-child japery - Me (2025)

PSA has already commented on this. They say that they screwed up the order and got the grades wrong. They regraded in their own after seeing the original post about the bad grades on twitter.

They’re asking people to accept that they’re incompetent to explain that they’re not corrupt. Which is probably the truth. But it’s hilarious that the defense for fraud is stupidity.

Do you know if they gave the seller PSA 10 prices after they were regraded? That would be the right thing to do.
If not then it’s just terrible business and PR for PSA.

I don’t know Darin. This is the last I saw on this. My best guess is that he got taken care of. If I’m PSA I would probably say that anyone accepting offers gets the difference paid by PSA if this happens in the future.

    You: Please grade my card.
    Them: Ok, that's a 9.
    You: Ok, great. Thanks.
Them: We will pay you handsomely for your 9.
You: Ok great. Thanks again. Here ya go.
Them: Ok, now it's a 10. All your base are belong to us.
    You: WTF??!?!?!?!?!?

There’s no proof yet of CATS involvement.

This is exactly what I wrote about in the "anyone accept an offer from PSA on a card" thread...Sad to see it actually happen...

so are we to believe this is the "only" time? and PSA only admits it after being publicly called out?

is it like the guy who gets pulled over for dui and tells the officer, "honest, this is the first time"

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

Are they actively trying to ruin their reputation?

Why would a company this size throw their entire credibility away for such a small pay off. This may be the stupidest decision ever. These type things will have folks running for other graders.

They will maintain the right to do whatever they please with any object which is held in their ownership.

It reminds me of watching Chris Hanson's To Catch a Predator back in the day. Every single time they caught a pedo they'd give the "honestly, this is the first time" response.

I suspect they will probably start to do the same with comic book grading. Under grade a high price book and then make an offer. Then they regrade it to a higher grade and Voila!

is anyone truly surprised by this revelation

just look at how many threads there are right now with a central theme that mirrors this one

the sooner people realize that the filth is omnipresent, the better
