First Graded Currency Purchase…….ever.

Hey all,
Never spent much time peering down the currency rabbit hole, but I do hop over from the US and World coin forums to lurk here every so often.
I’ve been a coin guy since I was a kid and have also long been a collector of Civil War related artifacts, particularly those of the confederacy.
Made my first currency purchase ever in yesterday’s Stacks auction of Confederate notes. I was the under bidder on another military endorsed piece (from my home state of Virginia) but am happy to be adding this one to my collection.
Any thoughts, comments, or criticisms are welcome! I’m here for the education.

Nice.
Congrats, this is one part of the hobby that I love as well. Its all good 👍
Very Nice! These train and also hoer notes with hand signed endorsements on the back are fabulous!
Nice note. Congrats on picking it up, and thanks for sharing it!
You have no doubt noticed the signature on the back of CSA Capt. Steven E. Rumble, AQM (along with the notation on the holder), indicating that this note is a military issue released by him, likely as pay for service in the CS army.
You may be interested in this brief history of his regiment, the 7th Mississippi Infantry Regiment, Company A. They saw a fair amount of action,
Thanks guys!
@Staircoins I definitely bid on it because of Rumble’s signature. The history of the 7th Mississippi was the primary reason. I was also extremely interested in another similar penned endorsement lot from the CSA 26th battalion, Virginia infantry because I collect lots of Civil War stuff stuff out of my home state of VA, but ended up the under bidder on that one.
Thanks for the link! Fascinating and much appreciated.
It's hard to get the "Q" grade.
