This unique penny almost got tossed in the recycling bin. What's your first impression of this one of a kind Lincoln cent?

worth 1 cent
What would the surface be altered with?
To be fair to the posters here... if you claim the coin to be unique, you should be able to explain why. It's not up to others to explain why not.
Why are you tossing cents into the recycling bin? Too many people doing things like that over the years are why cent mintages were so absurdly high, costing the taxpayers the negative seignorage.
One of a kind? Or one of 4.5 billion?

It's harsche.
Never any quality feedback, just a bunch of rude comments. I've noticed that coin collectors are a bunch of proud ass holes.
Harsche chemicals. It sat in the middle of a harschepuppy sandwich until it developed a harsche patina.
The best thing you could do is invest in some books so that you don't get on here and embarrass yourself. Not being rude but a little self education will go a long way

.
the copper plating on these is incredibly thin
if it were a 1972 cent i'd say acid
this one, i can't say for sure; but, when they come of the press they don't look like that because the whole coin wouldn't be pitted
i'd also think something mechanical abused it, like a dremel, but it's just that the plating is so thin that i can't imagine it surviving
Still haven't heard what you think makes it unique. Like said above, post a coin, tell us what YOU see and why you think it has value beyond 1¢.

Have you heard of VarietyVista.com? Just ask'n. Or maybe Coppercoins.com. Both are excellent resources for cents.
Put it on a auction website and see what happens
As already mentioned, simply offer your opinion as to why you imagine it to be unique and while not likely to get agreement, you might learn something to include using the internet to access the many free cent knowledgeable sites. Good luck.

Don’t spend it all at once.
Not everyone, but some.
It's a slightly corroded cent. I know you're very PROUD of it. And that's fine. But I'm not sure we're clear on what it is you want us to see.

Dude, amazing people buy that stuff; it’s liable to sell there.
