Available for sale is a 1956 Proof Franklin, Type 1, graded PR68CAM by PCGS with a CAC sticker. The Type 1 is the much tougher major variety in higher grades!

The PCGS Price Guide is at $2,700.

There are 184 of these 1956 Type 1's graded PR68CAM (67 by PCGS and 117 by NGC). Of those 184, only 52 merit a CAC sticker (28%).

This grade of PR68CAM for the tougher 1956 Type 1 meriting a CAC sticker don't come up for auction that often:

Looking at the PCGS Auction Prices Realized for this date as the tougher Type 1, the most recent one to pop up was back in February 2022. NO auction sales since! That one was sold by Heritage for $2.520.

Looking at the Great Collections Coin Auction Archive, the most recent sales were three sales in 2023. NO sales since! Those three coins were sold for $1,856, $2,043, and $3,600.

It should be pointed out for that 2023 sale at only $1,856, when you plug that cert number into the PCGS "Verify" tool, it shows that same coin was a "Hot Potato". That coin was consigned by it's owners FOUR separate times during the tiny period between August 2017 and July 2019!!!!!!

Regarding MY coin, here's what Heritage had to say in 2016 (I did not buy this coin then):

1956 50C Type 1 PR68 Cameo PCGS. CAC. A fully struck, almost flawlessly preserved Cameo proof 1956 Franklin half dollar, boasting a CAC endorsement and outstanding field-motif contrast. Neither side shows evidence of toning, and the eye appeal is outstanding.

Here are three photos of my coin. THESE PHOTOS ARE LOUSY! The glare from the highly lustrous watery mirrors show as cloudy distractions. That is NOT the case at all!
