I saw two Doily labels, one in gen 2 holder the other in gen 1.2 holder.
Is this possible?
Is it real?
To use up gen 1.2 slabs did PCGS use them up with a Doily label?
I have the opportunity to buy the Doily in the gen. 1.2 holder
I was confused and should have taken pictures.
I would appreciate if any input before I buy it.

Doily labels were only issued in a Gen 2 holder. What you are seeing is a holder that is missing the outer ring. These are fragile and do crack, break and sometimes fall off.

The outer ring is also referred to as a collar.

Rattlers (Gen 1.2) do not have bar codes.

The reverse is the easy way to see the difference. The two are very different.

Ike 1964: thank you for the response. I was confused because the label is correct but the holder resembles gen 1.2 not the normal gen. 2. I did not know the collar on gen. 2 was fragile and could break off.
A gen 2 holder with no collar probably resembles a gen 1.2 and that is probably what I remember.
Since the holder is incomplete I will pass on the coin especially since the seller was asking for a large premium
