I was really glad to see the announcement that Stack's has acquired the Long Beach Expo from our hosts, who had put it on hiatus last year. Stack's plans on holding it again starting in February 2026.

Long Beach was a local show for me for many years, and I have many great memories of it. Heritage used to hold at least one world coin auction there each year, and I was a frequent attendee. I bought numerous coins there that are still important parts of my Canada cent collection. Those auctions were well attended, and I really miss the "in-the-room" auctions.

They are starting carefully with "a smaller and more intimate “invitational” edition of the show." Best case - I hope Stack's is very successful with the show and restores the U.S. and world coin sales there. After all, the Stack's HQ is only 45 minutes down the road. Worst case - I hope Stack's revives what was a great coin show for decades.
