1955-S Lincoln - Die Chip, Grease or ??

ElKevvoElKevvo Posts: 4,198 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was avoiding doing house projects by searching some Lincolns for die varieties (like I am every going to find any but ya never know!!) and saw this oddity in a 55-S. It looks like a grease filled die error but the edges are fairly sharp so not sure. The cent is in good overall shape with some red so not a 'parking lot' find. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Wish I could have better pics but my Samsung S9 is a bit aged :)

    Die chip.

Grease would have the opposite effect

That year is also the LIBIERTY year. This was a popular low level error that caused quite a stir.
