Would it be safe to assume then that none of these dealers were buying? THKS!

Who would make that assumption based on just what Wingsrule said?
It's easy to go around and see posted sale prices at a LCS if the dealers have the items priced (many do).
As for buying, many will, but won't post that price. Just have to ask.
That's how it works at our LCSs. It's really not that hard to understand.
Now, one may not LIKE the prices offered, and not every dealer is buying, but there are usually at least 1 or 2 fair ones in the bunch.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I attended a local coin show Sunday.

Dealers were selling Peace and Morgan culls for around $48.

90% was selling for around 40X and higher.

I didn't observe anybody trying to sell to the dealers.

I made a deal to buy the two cull Barber Halves for $15 each.

I paid $20 for the 1902-O Barber Half.

I made an offer for $40 on the 1922-S Peace dollar. The offer was accepted.

Just sold some cull Morgans full roll, 15 of them were 21's and they were dogs, I got $47 a piece for them. Also sold a full 20 piece roll of silver Britannias, got $60 a piece. The nice thing about this approach is, I didn't have deal with listing items, fee's, shipping, insurance, unsatisfied customers, stress of the package getting there, etc, in and out in 15 minutes.

No line, the pawnshop was busy, they did verify each piece with some sort of electronic device, not sure what it was.

The buy/sell spreads I've seen from the big guys and the local shops has been laughable. It's essentially a 25% spread in some cases. They are protecting the high and low sides. I'm not sure when this will tighten up. After the dip, silver looks to be headed back to test the highs later this week. Not a great time to buy or sell unless you need to, I'd say.

When their volume dries up, their spreads will become more realistic. Until then, it's gravy.
