If you got a card you wanted, I'm hesitant to use the term "ripped off." But yes, I think you paid about $10 too much. But if it's a card you really wanted, who cares?
my lord how can you live with yourself after doing that? on ... no really its all about collecting what you like and i often will spend more for something i really want or trade over bv. so hey if its the card you really wanted then you got a great deal on it
A card is only worth what someone will pay you for it. If this is a card you really wanted, even paying book value for it would be ok. Some little book says your card is worth $50. If this is really something you wanted, would you pay that much for it? Don't get me wrong, I've got some great deals off ebay myself. I'm just saying, if it's really something you want, and you were willing to pay that much, then it's never a ripoff.
I agree that Jefferson is going to be a good player, but I believe you could have had that card cheaper. The only time I generally go over half book is for a nice patch or potential 1/1. If you had waited and watched a few of those, I suspect you would have gotten one cheaper.
That being said, if it's the card you wanted, and don't plan to try to sell or trade anytime soon, and most importantly you're happy with the deal, then be happy. If it's a card for your collection, don't let me or anyone else tell you whether it was a good or bad deal, decide for yourself.

I would look at it another way...27 dollars might buy you 6 packs of SP...what are the chances of you pulling
that card??
Good Luck
