Attended a Local club coin show. Didn't leave empty handed.

Had some luck before the inside doors opened. A guy was set up selling coin related items (albums, tubes, Lighthouse boxes, etc) in the waiting area. I purchased a few bags of the resealable slab protectors. He was selling them for $3. That was cheap compared to what I see online.
I was hoping to add a few coins to the CAC Ratt Commem set today. Unfortunately of the 20 or so Rattler Commems available not a single one was stickered. I passed on all of those. I circled the floor 4 times, making sure I did not miss anything. The first time through I had noticed 2 Morgan CAC Ratts in a case. I kept going since I was there to buy other things and Morgan's are not really on my list. Nothing at all. Maybe another 70-80 Rattlers but not a single one CACed.
I went back to the dealer with the only 2 Rattlers that were stickered and asked his price for the pair. It worked for me so I brought them home. I always try to buy a few things when I attend club run shows (even if a bit over priced). The hobby will not survive if all the shows go away. There had to be at least 10 Boy Scouts working on filling Lincoln albums. That is what the hobby needs.

It's not just local coin club shows. You wanta get kids interested in coins? Just go to pretty much any local coin club meeting. The kids could walk away with all kinds of free stuff without winning an auction. Between the door prizes and raffles. Plus, there is always a table of free giveaway stuff. (The old guys are always bringing in Magazines, books, old folders, albums, flips, boxes,.. etc, thinning out their collections.) They will always walk away with something and rarely leave empty handed.
You don't even have to be a kid, to walk away with something.

It was interesting to see a lot of people buying 90% coinage and stacks of graded Silver Eagles. Those dealers did well. Also, the 3-ring binders of raw coins were getting a lot of activity at various dealers.

Thank you
cool
Sorry, I didn't actually check out their prices. Must have been ok with the number of buyers.

Ha no there was a local club show in Vienna, VA this weekend. I attended and was wondering if you were referring to the same show.
Apparently not.
No, a WI show. I do wish I was in Austria though.

Vienna, Austria is a very nice town indeed………. I am betting they do have coins shows, I might have to look into that.
