I saw this years ago and then decided to watch it again. This is a sci/fi movie with elements of time travel, murder mystery/and sports.
Without spoiling too much..
The plot is that a NY fireman is a huge Mets fan in 1969 and a very proud dad of his 8 year old son. It is set on Oct 10, 1969(game 1 of the world series). His hobby is talking to people on his hand radio. At that time the aurora borealis is causing all sorts weird phenomenon causing people to pick up signals they would not normally get.
The other time period the movie is set in is Oct 10, 1999. At this time, the son is an adult and he pulls out his dad's old hand radio from under the stairs. Tragedy had already struck the family(I won't reveal that). He turns it on and again, the aurora borealis is playing tricks at this time too.
What ensues is a big element of time/bending time/time paradox...and a butterfly effect as well. The 1969 Mets remain a key theme during the movie and clues from that series are used to help convince people they are on the level with the strange phenomenon.
Father/son. Baseball. Husband/wife/son. Time travel. Detective mystery. Trying to save a loved one. If you like any or all of those elements it is a cool movie.
Dennis Quaid and Elizabeth Mitchell(Yummy) are the stars.
