I made an AI video of an old coin collector's fantasy using Google Veo. Enjoy! It is my first AI video. Have wanted to do this one for a while.

Truly amazing that AI or computers or technology has progressed this far. Insane!
Proud follower of Christ!
Does anyone know what is real anymore?
Very interesting article on AI Generated art, photography and the like. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/real-photo-ai-competition-flamingone-miles-astray/

Too bad that AI came out after I retired, I could have worked on my collection while my AI self did my work.
Ah, so the real flamingo picture won the AI competition and got disqualified, only after the artist claimed it was real! I wonder how long it will be possible for experts to tell the difference?
Often no.
I'm actually far more surprised that judges thought the AI image linked below was real when it won an award for real photography.

Did anyone enjoy the contents of this video?
Can we stop with the AI content please?

Why do you object to it Rexford?
That video was impressive
Thank you!
We fear change!!! (Wayne & Garth) lol
It’s uninteresting, unfunny, and uncreative. I think this forum has decisively concluded that AI exists by now, and beyond the repetitive “look, AI can create an uncanny valley version of something almost numismatic,” these threads are not productive or relevant to coins in any real way.

Or AI could have taken over your work and job and you could have worked on your collection full-time.
This comment does not dignify a response.
I understand your distain for this comment yet you must agree there is a certain antipathy toward AI that is difficult to shake. None of us should marginalize those who don't appreciate AI.
AI can do a lot more than just generating images. I've been using it a lot lately to do summarization and research. A few examples of coin related things I've used AI for recently:
1) Point it to a dealer's inventory page, ask it to summarize what they offer. Ask it to compare their prices to published price guides
2) Upload a spreadsheet with your collection. Ask it to find holes or suggest upgrades
3) Upload images and ask it for opinions on the coin. It's only so-so at this (you need to prompt to ignore past history so it doesn't apply what it saw from the last coin). I usually pair this with a "list pros and cons of this coin" to see its assessment. Most AI is not that good at this task (automated grading isn't here by any means), but it can be interesting to see what it responds
Or you can do prompts like this if you want to save time reading a whole thread:
Read all posts in this thread: https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/1117545/a-coin-collectors-fantasy-created-in-google-veo-3-video-show-your-ai-coin-videos. Summarize the content. What is general consensus on use of AI?
ChatGPT's general conclusion:
Overall, the community seems to lean skeptical but intrigued. They are not rejecting AI wholesale, but many don’t see it as particularly valuable (yet) for core numismatic functions. AI seems more like a neat toy, an experiment, or a side tool — interesting in small doses, but not a replacement for expertise, rigorous grading, or connoisseurship.
There's also a tension: some want to embrace what AI can do to aid collectors, others want to preserve the “realness” and authenticity that define numismatics — and they worry AI will muddy those waters.
