Knossos, Crete, AR stater (authenticity)

Greetings everyone!

I would appreciate your comments on the authenticity of this and, if possible, any information on whether passages of this type existed and whether it has been described in literature.

Stater of Knossos, Crete, early 3rd century BC, weight approximately 9.5 grams.

  • I'm confused by the lack of symbols in the center of the labyrinth. The few passages where similar coins are found have a star, dots, or the letter K in the center.

Not my series but def. looks to be cast, sad to say...The surfaces have that slightly bubbly rough surface that is different than buried coins. Look at some similar pieces on google.

    Love that Milled British (1830-1960)
    Well, just Love coins, period.

    Thanks.
