Have Trueviews returned yet?

I'm not even going to ask you to GTG because the answer is too easy. This coin popped from 66 to 67 and maybe it doesn't deserve it but for a while I felt like they were grading my coins based on the TV because the grades were so bad as were the TVs.

What I have noticed however, is that coins with color (classics) TV better than coins that have a silver/shiny or grey finish.
That doesn't apply here per se just extra info.

The Trueview and first attempt, MS66.

I then cracked and stored the coin in my 7070 as with all my failed 67s until one day recently I decided to give it another go. Low and behold she came back 67. My first attempt was a success! B)

My pic at 67.

Questions: Have TVs returned yet? And does this coin actually deserve 67?

for a while I felt like they were grading my coins based on the TV because the grades were so bad as were the TVs.

I thought the same thing too. I was like did they even physically look at the coin or just the image.

I'm not alone. And will add this: Since I have abandoned the big TV invoices and run cheap through economy my grades have been better. I guess all this time I was sending my moderns to the big guys and they were shooting them down like "what's this crap" Funnily, my grades and coins have already arrived through modern economy while my pre 64 is currently stuck in grading still... Not excited to see those grades.

I'm in the same position, waiting on pre 64 grades. What I like is that if they do come back not as expected, you can always go the CAC route and see if they agree with your assessment.

I am totally lost on moderns, I send in what I think should be an easy top grade and it comes back 2-3 points lower.

In your example above, the second set of photos looks like it deserves the 67.

PCGS has really tightened up. I went through 100's of coins and looked for the best to send in that were in older slabs and at the top of their grade expecting a few +'s at least. I like to think I have a pretty good eye for grading moderns but they didn't upgrade a single coin. This is an example of one disappointment. MS67, I don't know why they didn't think it deserved a +.

As far as TVs, they seem to be better than they were but still inconsistent.

@dipset512 Thanks, and I think it has just enough pizazz to get there. Possibly eye appeal (for color) to cover for the Shield.

@ProofCollection I could be wrong but I don't count +s as half points but rather does the coin have anything about it to stand out above the given grade. The TV is too dark for me to nitpick but they didn't view it as a 68 so it's a 67 with no reason to go plus, like color or tremendous strike.

I get what you're saying that a + doesn't mean it's "almost a 68." If you compare to the other coins in Coinfacts I don't see any real inferiorities to the 67+'s or 68's there and mine is better (IMO) than all of the 67s with regard to surface preservation. The strike is as full as any of them as far as I can tell (though if someone disagrees I'd like to see where I might be missing something). The luster is exceptional. I try not to exhibit any ownership bias but I think this one is at the top of the 67 tier with nothing that there's not to like about it. I wish the TV were a little better.
