Thanks, PSA for helping out the collectors with all these great specials

PSA
Please let your core collecting base know why month after month your Collectors Club participants have not had a card special in three months. While I appreciate the great values to grade Pictures, funko pops, magazines, Pokemon and Starting Lineups for three months consecutive, this does not help the collecting community.

I stopped subbing over a year ago, but keep checking the monthly specials since I still have a few hundred I'd like slabbed. They certainly are not doing anything to entice me to get back in the pool.

Does this mean they’ve been rotten to the core?

Thanks for starting this thread. I have about 50 that have been packed and in a box waiting to send. I don't like Beckett holders much, maybe I can sell them raw. So glad I didn't waste the money to renew my "membership"!

By the way, is there any value at all to a membership or are those days long gone? Used to be vouchers, SMR Magazine, and monthly specials. What is there now?

They still send the magazine but I quit reading that months ago. I don't even open it anymore. See above for the monthly specials. This was always the reason I paid.

The max insured value on the Trading Card Game Bulk is way too low. I'd submit cards otherwise. As it stands anything worth grading will automatically be over the line.

Same boat. I'm going to cancel at least a month before renewal since they charged me 2 weeks early this year.

They don't care about us anymore. Their revenue is coming from elsewhere. They just need to pray that newfound revenue doesn't dry up. I used to submit thousands of cards a year for grading. I've submitted about 550 cards since the pandemic and nothing since a small order last October. I have thousands of high grade raw cards I could submit but not at $20 per. I also don't read the magazine anymore since it's focused almost entirely on modern. I'll be cancelling my subscription when it's time to renew.

I wish PSA would have a reasonable price for their crossover service.

I have a bunch of low-grade T205s and T207s in SGC holders, that I want to cross to PSA; but I refuse to pay $40 each.

I just looked, and it's now $45 each for crossover service. Who in their right mind is going to pay $45 to crossover a card that's worth barely $100? In total, I have 20 cards worth around $2,200; to cross them from SGC to PSA would cost over $900 (they're all SGC 10 - SGC 40).

The grading fee is roughly 41% of the cards total value.

I guess, in fairness, vintage sports collectors were not generating enough business to deserve their focus and the high end market doesn't care about the economics.

I suspect that anyone who thinks PSA or anyone else might be close to "AI Grading" is also getting most of their technology information from the "tech guy" on their local news. Which I mean to say is... ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!

I'd give it a shot anyway submitting at the lower rate. I just put a 61-card 18.99 a card TCG order together last night. Sure some could be $400 cards. If they want to charge me extra its hard to complain after a nice win. But honestly, I feel like I have had those grades pop where the recent sale price may exceed the Maximum insured by a little bit, 200 or 300 and they just ship it out and never reach out on the upcharge. I have never been charged an upcharge.

I think they are targeting the examples that are major offenders such as $200 max insured value but your card in your grade sells for $1400. At the end of the day you dont know what your card is worth until they grade it. If its all 700 1500 2500 dollar cards after the grades the fees are easier to live with.

I just submitted 16 cards at that $40 rate on ones that had a bit more upside and after the results felt it was worth it. Also knowing sooner and suffering less on waiting has a lot of value to me. My suggestion/recommendation is partially selfish though. I'd be interested in hearing how you did.

If I submit at TCG bulk and it gets bumped up, does it bump up to value bulk? Or does it go to the 28 dollar level? Is value bulk just for sports cards?
