1839 N2 Head of 38 Cornet Head Large Cent-Replica or Real

Opinions on this 1839 Coronet Head Large Cent as to replica or real. Weight 10.5g, somewhat light. Only counterfeit I've seen was an 8.4 gram, but that was only one.

My guess is genuine, but heavily burnished to remove surface corrosion.
Genuine. The weight tolerance on early copper is somewhat wider than for silver or gold coins, to my understanding.

Agreed... definitely been "worked". The good news is that 1839 (Head of '38) isn't that tough of a coin to find nice. Happy hunting!

Real and looks like corrosion removed as others have pointed out.
