Boston - Philadelphia's signing of Dallas Mavericks free agent swingman Greg Buckner may be the Sixers attempt to match up with Celtics high scoring swingman Paul Pierce. Pierce, who averaged 27 points per game against the Sixers this past season, struggled against Buckner's defense this past season.
Indiana - Lawyers for Indiana Pacers forward Ron Artest will file motions next week in a Queens, N.Y., criminal court to dismiss charges that their client harassed a former girlfriend who is the mother of his son. Artest is scheduled to appear before a judge on Sept. 11 and faces a year in jail if convicted.
Minnesota - Utah free agent Quincy Lewis, who led the Timberwolves' summer team in scoring at 12.3 points per game, will sign a contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel rather than tryout for the Wolves or any other NBA team. Maccabi is apparently willing to offer Lewis more than the minimum salary he would likely have received in the U.S.
Portland - Damon Stoudamire's attorney, Stephen A. Houze, has filed a petition to remove evidence against Stoudamire when police found almost one pound of marijuana in his home while searching the house after a home security system was activated. Any evidence found in the search of Stoudamire's Lake Oswego home should be tossed out because the officers lacked probable cause to search the residence, according to a motion filed Wednesday by the basketball player's attorney.

Ron Artest deserves to go to jail, but hey, $$$ talks which has been the case for MANY stars who should have went to jail, yet they got out of it because they have money. It's pretty sad in my opinion..
Damon has always looked like he smoked mary jane. You can tell by the way he looks during basketball games...that fu(ker is higher than high!
<< <i>Look out for the Hawks...lol >>
Bulls should be vastly improved this year also. Lol just like last year with Chandler and Curry, and the year before with Fizer and Crawford, and the year before that with Brand and Artest. Lol. Hopefully this is the Bulls year.
