Lincoln Token - Any Information Appreciated

A friend came upon this token, and is looking for any information about this interesting token. It is about the size of a 1/2 dollar, but thicker.
Thank you to any token experts out there!

Are you sure about the size? That design is from the Hall of Fame for Great Americans at NYU, see https://www.medalcollectors.org/discover/guides/hall-of-fame-nyu. It was issued in 1963, so "later than that". It normally comes in much better condition than yours. It's also normally struck in 1 3/4 inch size, so if you're right that yours is half dollar sized then it must be a reproduction or copy of some sort.
The obverse design is from the Hall of Fame medal, but the reverse is from something else. I am going to guess that somebody made a knockoff medal to sell at a souvenir stand in Springfield, IL, perhaps near Lincoln’s Tomb, stealing the obverse design from the Hall of Fame medal and the reverse from something else.
That reverse design format might be from one of those three inch “Big Penny” souvenirs.
Thanks, everyone! Wonderful information!

I have owned a couple of these and I agree that they are a knock-off of sorts, likely sold as a souvenir. They appear to have been cast, rather than struck and are not solid bronze or copper, but rather copper over a heavy white metal. Often, the outer copper is flaking away to expose the inner metal. In terms of condition, this one, even with the central corrosion on both faces, isn’t all that bad compared to most others.
@JohnPhiloponus are you doing anything to mitigate the verdigris?

A friend of mine sent me this picture to look into, so I do not have the coin.

Okay, is your friend doing anything to mitigate the verdigris?
