Ebay 1st for me.

Before I even knew I had sold an item, ebay messages me that a buyer wishes to cancel a purchase that they had paid for. This is the 1st cancellation, I have ever had in 21yrs with ebay. Not a problem, but when I went to refund the buyer, I read the buyer cancellation reason and the buyer says:

I feel sure the buyer must have left out the word want, as in Don't want, but interesting. I texted the buyer to be certain and will refund as soon as they answer. lol

Very strange! I think the same as you, the wording was accidental and gave the opposite message by chance. It couldn't have been an accident to place a cancellation request and write a note. Good for you to double check with him.

A few years ago, I had purchased a Barber half dollar, and the seller immediately canceled the order a few minutes later. I was concerned because that was not my request, so I messaged the seller, and the seller responded with a screenshotted message of an imposter that tried to cancel the order on my behalf so he could get the deal after reposted. With all the scams going on with Ebay lately, I wonder if your situation is a strange scam attempt.

You texted the buyer? You have his cellphone number?
