How to send a former player gift?

Hello. I'm not certain if this is done anymore but, as a kid, I used to write to players and teams for schedules, photos, etc. Like a fan-pack. It was, somehow, easier then to mail something directly to a player. I have something I wish to send to a favorite of mine and wondered if anyone has any insights as to the process.
