Went to a local car show this evening and saw some beautiful cars, including some from the 1950s. Made me think of Lucy Bop and her love of Frankies and hot rods.
Maybe this thread will cause her to make an appearance.

Those are some boss cars and boss Frankie's. When cars were cars when you could tell them apart. Today most look alike.
I always enjoyed her posts and learned a lot about Franklins from reading them!

That's so that many of them can use the same parts including probably body parts. Economically it makes sense and I don't particulary care if my grocery getter is ho hum. If I wanted style I'd prefer to have my old 1980 VW Scirocco back.

Dainty Donuts is the successor to Great Donuts in Alamo, Cal.
Great Donuts was a mom and pop business that my family and I first patronized in 1999. At that time a donut cost 35 cents. The owners had two young kids who helped out around the shop. As the kids got older they worked at the shop with their parents. The dad would show up to the shop seven days per week at between midnight to 3 a.m. to set up and make donuts for each day. The kids grew up, went to college and left the nest to live their lives. Mom and dad sold their business to Dainty Donuts (a company that has many locations) about a year ago to retire. When they sold they were charging $1.75 per donut. The quality of their donuts was excellent.
The new owners (franchisees I think) are couple of young men who are go getters, with lots of drive and ambition. Their donuts are also very good, now costing $2.00 each.
Great Donuts is an American success story.
1962 Roman Red Corvette was the First car I ever drove, those were the Golden Days, not so much now as we get Older and Wiser.
