I received the email notification two hours ago.
Pressing On - Forged Friendships, Minted Memories
It is with the deepest sorrow to let those who were unaware know that Ron Landis, our founder and friend, has recently passed away. I’ve worked alongside him for many years — managing the administration side of things, the full production of our art medals from Ron's fantastic designs, and helping build our line of handmade sterling finger picks from the very beginning. Now, I’ve taken on full responsibility for maintaining the business and continuing what we’ve built together.
I got my start in the minting industry at Gallery Mint in 1997, working for the Doe Brothers, Joe Rust and Ron Landis. Like a fish to water, I was immediately at home. Working alongside both of them until Joe's death, it didn't stop there. After my partnership in Moffatt and Company, followed by my role as Production Manager at Sunshine Mint, an entrepreneurial season as Eureka Minting, and then as Operations Manager/Member helping Intaglio Mint get mechanically set-up, I again joined Ron to literally knock the rust off the old equipment and run as Landis Studios. It is my pleasure to offer 29 years of coin and medal manufacturing experience to keep Landis Studios thriving. I want to be clear: the same quality and craftsmanship you've always counted on will remain unchanged.
More importantly, Ron has been one of my closest friends over the years. By far, one of the most generous people I have ever known. We were a great team. We often said he was the artist with a mechanical mind and I was the mechanic with the artistic mind. I already miss him dearly, but I know he can breath freely now.

I got the email too. Ron passed away in June, so I think this email is the start of Landis Studios moving forward. There's a big legacy to keep alive. Here's the thread from when he passed.
