If it helps, an FYI. Sometimes I Google celebrity deaths. It will denote any celebrity deaths for that particular day. Also for the year. They include lesser known celebrities as well.

RIP Danielle. I used to watch that show on the living room floor in front of the TV with my family growing up, fond memories. Horrible news lately, geez.

I'm just wondering what this has to do with sports, since it's posted in the Sports Talk forum.

has absolutely zero to do with sports talk, but there's more to this group than simply talking sports. with all due respect, if such posts bother you that much, don't click on them. as can be seen up above, you're in the minority.

The moderators have basically made it clear, I think as I of course don't speak for them, that an occasional OT thread is fine as long as it's not religion or politics.

    That's my understanding.

we're coming up on the 2-year anniversary of one of our own who passed away unexpectedly. he loved this place. not only was a thread created in his honor, but a number of us made contributions to a fund for his family. had nothing to do with sports, had everything to do with the human element. no one had a problem with it, including the moderator, nor should they have.

besides, rotate your head and look at this place. between basketball and football seasons, it's a veritable ghost town. you can take a technical approach if you'd like, but for me personally, i'm thrilled to see a new post about virtually anything. i don't find staring into the abyss to be especially appetizing.

I'm asking when I pass around 30 or more years from now. That Sports Talk close for a week in my memory, and a generous donation be made to the "stevek thinks he can take his cards and coins with him" foundation.
