I would like to hear your opinion about this 2 Kopeks 1963 coin.

🟡 Weight: 1.87 g
Diameter: 18.21 mm (slightly larger than the standard ~18.00 mm for 2 Kopeks, possibly indicating striking variation)
Magnetic test: Positive – attracts to a magnet without even touching it
🎨 Color & material: strong golden tone, copper-like color
🔄 Possible transitional planchet: could it be struck on a 1.5 Kopeks blank?
🔍 Die defect: weakly struck design and unclear details

Coins supposed to be brass, which is not magnetic. So I don't know.

Yes, we understand that the official 2 Kopeks 1963 coins were made of brass, which is normally non-magnetic.

However, this particular coin clearly reacts to a magnet – the test has been repeated with consistent results.
It also has a more copper-like golden tone and weighs only 1.87 g, which is below standard.

We believe this may suggest a striking error or use of a transitional or mistaken planchet, possibly related to the 1.5 Kopeks blank (never officially released).

We’re not making claims – just asking for feedback from experienced collectors like yourself.
