Pretty soon there will be so many changes that you'll need a PhD to keep up. Not sure "wiping your nose" is such a big deal...yup, they got a new rule for that!! One of the requirements for a rule change is "Does the change improve the game?" Two wipings can get you ejected.
Games can now end in a tie after 10 minutes of not scoring...not sure how that would affect betting.

The “nose wipe” is not really a new rule, it has just been included as unsportsmanlike behavior as it is a Bloods gang sign.
As for ties, it was already a tie after ten minutes of not scoring. The only change is now both teams get to possess the ball even if one scores a touchdown, which previously was only the case in the postseason.
"If a team elects to onside kick, they must report that they're doing so."
Are you kidding me? 🙄
"In the 2024 season, when a touchback was called, a team would start out with the ball on their own 30-yard line. This year, a touchback will place the ball at the 35-yard line."
Why not just place the ball at the kicking team's 5 yard line. This might result in more scoring. 🙄
Pasted from AI:
"The gesture of wiping one's nose, often called a "nose wipe," has been banned by the NFL (National Football League) because it is considered a gang sign associated with the Bloods.
Here's why:
Gang Connotations: The NFL stated that the gesture has gang connotations and is seen as disrespectful. According to court filings, wiping the tip of one's nose and then the sides with the left index finger and thumb can indicate "I don't trust him" to members of the Bloods gang.
Rule Change: The league banned this celebration and others in March 2025 by adding a new rule prohibiting violent gestures, including "a throat slash, simulating firing or brandishing a gun, or using the 'nose wipe' gesture, or an act that is sexually suggestive or offensive".
Penalty: Players who violate this new policy will receive a 15-yard penalty.
This ban has led to discussions about player celebrations and the perceived meaning of certain gestures."
You gotta be kidding me.
Oh sorry, I said that already.
I blame tik tok.
I was just reading about the ancient Roman Colosseum.
At one point they changed the rules about gladiator matches. Only rubber swords with safety tips could be used. Knives also could only be rubber, with a maximum length of one inch. Punches or kicks to the face, stomach, groin, and knees were strictly forbidden. No personal insults allowed such as, "Your mama is a goat herder."
I just don't watch football like I used to. As little as 3 years ago I could hardly wait of the next NFL game but now hardly ever even watch a game and don't even watch my favorite Patriots games anymore.
It makes sense with the kick off rules. You could get it basically every time if you dont. I know I am in the minority for the forum but I do like the new kickoff rules where returns actually happen and its not just guys booting it out of the back of the endzone every time wasting everyones time
