Does PSA re-grade cards from their own slabs? They screwed me on this one.

So years ago grabbed this card super cheap, but PSA somehow trapped a big piece of dust or something in the slab, even though they gave it a psa 10. Do they have a service that will open their own slabs and regrade? or just put into a new slab with no grade? How does that work?

Send to PSA for a "reholder". You'll get a new holder, same grade.
Details on their website:
The “Reholder” service applies to trading cards that are currently graded and encapsulated by PSA that the customer would like placed into the most current PSA holder
For this submission type, the cards will not be graded. The cards will be received and then inspected by a member of the grading team to determine if the card and PSA holder are authentic.
Once it is determined that the holder and card are genuine, the card will be removed and placed into a new PSA holder. This service is generally used for cards that are housed in PSA holders that have been damaged, or to create label consistency within a collection
Doesn't reholder come with fees? I would try the mechanical error route first through customer service. This is PSA's originally fault and the card should never had been shipped like that. I'd try really hard to not have to pay to get the issue fixed.
I agree PSA should stand behind their product.

Dont let anyone open that slab aside from PSA. The Authenticity Guarantee stands as long as everything is original. Maybe call them with this picture and see if Mechanical Applies. Personally I would go ReHolder, let them inspect it and if it doesn't rate the same grade, they'll refund you the difference between the new grade and previous one. Someone could confirm.
Be careful, if they downgrade it, they may base the "compensation" on what you paid for the card, which is nowhere near what it is worth today. You'd be better off "fake selling" it to someone you know on ebay at today's price if you think that turd may have left an imprint on the card, which would knock the grade down.
This would be treated as a mechanical, even if sent for a paid reholder as the slab is defective (though really the slabbing process.) and card will be examined to determine if it is still a 10.
It says right on the site they DO NOT regrade the cards. but also not sure they are smart enough, or lame enough to just leve the dust and put it in a new holder for me. Customer service wont respond since i do not have an order number. Got it on ebay, but the number on the slab is legit and all.
Customer service has responded to my requests without an order number in the past. Sometimes it takes longer than others.
I think the first answer was correct. Pay to get it re-holdered. Had the original submitter requested a re-holder at the time, I would have a different opinion. It would certainly be better for their brand if they just took care of their mistakes but let’s get real - brand isn’t their main concern right?
Based on their actions I do agree
